同学们，九月part1 新题里面有一个新的话题是Rainy Days。那么今天我们就跟随环球教育刘东晓老师来一起来学习下关于Rain的好玩习语。

　　习语一："When it rains , it pours " or  "It never rains, but it pours."

　　Example：

　　Peter："It hadn't rained for over two months. Now it has started raining and it has been raining for a week straight."

　　Mary: "When it rains, it pours."

　　解析：在这个例子中，Peter向Mary抱怨说：“这都两个月没下雨了，现在一下雨就连着下了一个星期！！”Mary总结说：“就是这样啊，只要一下雨就会下个不停。”所以这个习语本身的意思即很久不下雨后，一旦再次下雨就常常是倾盆下雨。

　　很有意思的是这个习语在现在很多场合中诠释说话者的不同情绪：

　　Example:

　　1.A:"It looks like everyone in our department is sick again, and all at the same time."

　　B: "When it rains, it pours."

　　解析：在这个场合里，这个习语的使用带着一股无奈而又悲伤的语气。A 同学说好像我们这个系里的人都病了，而且还是同时生病的。而B同学这个回答的潜台词是：大家真是不病则已，一病就是病一片啊

　　2.A："Sometimes we have no customers for two or three hours, then suddenly we get 20 people all at once."

　　B: "It never rains, but it pours."

　　解析：在这个场合中，A 店员说有的时候我们2.3个小时都没有顾客光顾，然后突然一下子来了20个人。 B店员的答复透漏着无奈的抱怨和感慨：对啊，要么闲的要命，要么忙的要死！！

　　习语二："I'll be there, rain or shine."

　　This idiom means that whether life is bad or good, I will be at some event. Rain or shine tells us that the weather or our mood will not affect our decision to do something.

　　这个习语的意思是不管天气好坏，说话人都会参加这个活动。

　　Example:

　　Rose: Will you come with me?

　　Jack: "I'll be there, rain or shine."

　　在这个例子中，Jack显示了自己一定会和Rose一起去的决心,不管是晴天还是雨天都不会影响他的决定,果然是真爱啊！！

　　习语三："Don't rain on my parade."

　　Rain on my parade means ruin my day or my fun. This idiom tells someone not to make someone else unhappy.

　　解析：这个习语很有意思，首先parade本身有“游行”的意思，这里应该是特指欢乐气氛下的大游行，设想一下在喜庆的游行日突然下雨了，那该是多破坏兴致啊！！所以这里意为不要坏掉我的好心情。

　　Peter：Mary，You look great in that dress, but I've to say you might eat too much recently.

　　Mary：Hey,Don't rain on my parade!!

　　试猜想Peter一定是个大直男，说了太多实话真的会惹脑女生！！
