One of the topics indaily life is whether or not the older people should live with their adultchildren. My answer is the question is that it is better for them not to.

Firstly, people ofdifferent ages have different ways of life. The old people like a quiet,peaceful and regular life whereas the young prefer noises, activities andunrestrained enjoyment. If they live together, old may feel that they arealways disturbed and the young may feel that they are often handicapped.

Secondly, people ofdifferent generations have different views and values. What is quite normal tothe parents may seem to be old-fashioned or wrong to the children. When theylive together, they may disagree on matters ranging from minor domestic mattersto national and international issues. Consequently, family life may beunpleasant or even unbearable to both the old and the young.

Last but not theleast, adult children, like their parents, love independence and freedom, buttheir parents still take them as children and unintentionally interfere intheir affairs. The situation will be worse if the adult children are alreadymarried. In this case, the children have already built a new and closed worldand any outside interference may lead to conflicts.

From what has beendiscussed above, we may safely draw the conclusion that if the parents andtheir adult children do not live together, both the old and the young can enjoycomplete independence and freedom, live a life they like, and keep intact theiraffections for each other.

用纳税人的钱修路，改善交通状况

To construct andmaintain roads is a public service administered

by the government.However, where does the money come from? Somebody believe that the governmentshould allocate money from national finance on the road construction; butothers think that the roads are constructed for people, so every tax-payer hasthe responsibility for constructing and maintaining the roads. It is so called“What is taken from the people is used in the interests of the people.”

　　To the first opinion, since government is theadministrative organ, it has responsibility to do overall plan on those publicservices of city construction, including constructing the road. They think thatthe government should do plan and allocate every penny on all things concerningpeople’s life.  

　　However in reality, the government cannot doall specific plans and money allocations on every detail concerning the societyrunning. It only has the right of macro-adjustment and control. To be specificon the road construction, many people believe that based on the principleabove, since the road is constructed for the convenience of people themselves,every tax-payer has duty to devote a little on the road construction, which isnot only for the city overall plan, but also for their own use fundamentally.Once the constructions finish, the roads will be wider and longer, thefacilities along the roads will be better in use, by then people could furtherimprove their working efficiency, etc..  

　　As I know, the second opinion is morereasonable and feasible, because it has two advantages: 1. The government couldreduce heavy burdens, simplify and make clear the usage of money; 2. Tax-payersare clear about the usage of money they turn over, thus improve thetransparency. Therefore, it is a good measure for both sides to allocate moneyfrom the tax paid by people on the road construction.
