备考雅思的同学很多都会知道，雅思口语是一个“题库”型考试，每年有三次大的题库更新变动，分别在1月、5月和9月。今天环球教育（原环球教育）郑睿老师来跟大家谈谈最近更新的话题之一“Teacher”。

　　这个话题在考试中通常包含以下几个问题：

　　1.Can you tell me a teacher you like?

　　2.Have you ever taught others before?

　　3.What makes a teacher popular?

　　4.Do you want to become a teacher in the future?

　　Question 1：can you tell me a teacher you like?

　　参考思路：

　　每个人都会有应该会有印象深刻的喜欢的老师， 可以从对方对自己的影响讨论，例如可以说“他帮助我在某方面提高了许多”。

　　参考回答：

　　let me think, i believe one of my favorite teachers must be my math teacher in my high school. frankly, math used to be one of my biggest troubles before i met him, but with his encouragement and motivation, i gradually became interested in this tough subject, so actually i am quite grateful to him, that's also why i consider him as one of my favorite teachers.

　　be grateful to sb- 感激某人；consider…as…   把…当作…；

　　Question 2: Have you ever taught others before？

　　参考思路：

　　你是怎么理解“teach”的呢？不一定要做正式的老师或家教才能算得上是teach，凡是你有擅长的东西，别人问你问题，你给出建议或回答都算教。建议结合自己的“强项”(strong suit)谈。

　　参考回答：

　　definitely.  i guess everyone has their strong suit. as for me, i suppose one of the things i do well in is tennis, which i usually play with my friends. sometimes people will consult me about some techniques, and of course in most cases i will be more than happy to oblige.

　　亮点表达:

　　strong suit- 强项特长；happy to oblige -乐意效劳；more than happy - 非常乐意（一种强调的方法）

　　Question 3: What makes a teacher popular?

　　参考思路：

　　很明显，这个题目是让考生讨论老师品质的，例举优良品质并稍作原因解释。品质的统称是characteristic，而“quality”这个词表示的是“优良品质”。换言之，前者是中性词，后者是褒义词。

　　一些可能的常见品质：patient； knowledgeable； responsible； humorous(has a good sense of humor)； motivating ( be good at motivating)

　　参考回答：

　　from my point of view, a teacher should possess many qualities to be popular. for one thing, they should have a good sense of humor, so that their class will not be dull and tedious. apart from that, i think they should also be good at motivating students, as you know, sometimes the biggest problem for students is not knowledge, instead, it is the fear and timidity in their heart, a good teacher should be able to help them overcome these psychological barriers.

　　Question 4: Do you want to become a teacher in the future?

　　建议结合个人学习的专业、兴趣以及个人性格特点回答

　　I guess I will have to say no. one of the reasons is because of my major，i am a law student and I've always wanted to fulfill my career as a lawyer. apart from that, i guess my personality will not fit in as a teacher, because, you know, teachers are usually supposed to be patient, which is a quality I do not possess， and I really worry if I will go nuts if I do it.
